Paddy Mahony

Director of Professional Courses, has been teaching general, examination and business English since 1980, in Cambridge, Oxford and over a dozen European countries. His approach to business English is decidedly lexical, as is his approach to soccer, opera and putting his feet up. His poetry and dramas have been described by the Polish Ministry of Culture as 'excruciating and offensive', which he interprets as 'piercingly painful and challenging'. Paddy has an M.A. and D.Phil from Oxford and a Diploma in TEFL. |
Ian Chisholm

Ian Chisholm is another member of our English for Lawyers team, who also specializes in English for Business. Originally from London, he lived and taught in that great metropolis and in Madrid before moving to the peace and tranquility of the Cambridge Academy. His unlikely hobbies include an encyclopedic knowledge of punk rock; more obviously, he loves cooking and Adnam’s beers. He is not to be messed with and admits to having the lowest croquet ranking of the Professional Centre team. Ian has a degree in philosophy and an M.A. in Language in Multicultural Communities. |
Dave Bartlett

Dave Bartlett has been teaching English since 1980; his experience also includes 5 years as Director of Studies in a London school, running EFL teacher-training courses, and 15 years as a Cambridge examiner. He loves France and also has a passion for MGs, music, lyric writing, double entendres and traditionally-brewed beer. Dave has a degree from the other university in Cambridge, a diploma in TEFL and is a qualified homeopathic practitioner. |
Steve Guy

Steve Guy specialises in teaching English for Law and video work. He has taught English in Turkey and Portugal, where an inner urge to return to England and its delightful climate drew him to Cambridge and the Professional Centre. After studying for his law degree, and after a mild identity crisis, he has now found his true role teaching the intricacies of legal English to practising professionals. He loves running marathons, singing (badly), playing football, and people. Steve has a law degree and is an active member of the newly-formed European Association of Legal English trainers. |
Sabina Sahni

Sabina Sahni has been working in the field of EFL since 1991, when she graduated with a Masters Degree in TEFL from San Francisco State University. Besides teaching, Sabina has also worked as an editor in Germany, in publishing sales in the US, and as a corporate trainer in Singapore. Her main area of interest is intercultural communication. She moved to Cambridge in 2006, giving up her jet-set lifestyle for the simple pleasures of English country life (growing vegetables and raising chickens). As a foreigner, Sabina is still trying to understand the peculiarities of the English. This may take some time. |
