CAE Charity Day
27/01/2020
Every year, usually in January, CAE holds a charity day. This special event is a chance for everyone involved with CAE to get together, have a great time and raise money to support the important work of SOS Children’s Villages.
The annual CAE Charity Day is always a wonderful way to brighten a dull grey January winter’s afternoon. Each class group is responsible for a different stall or activity and our Argentinian- Brazilian-Chilean Winter Teenage Homestay students always do themselves proud! Popular stalls are Face Painting; How many Sweets in the jar? Lucky Dip; International Calligraphy; Book sale; Friendship Bracelets; Juggling; and Fortune Telling…. But the most popular, and the most memorable, and the most hilarious activity of all, is “The Charity Auction“. Paddy, or John take to the stage to sell a whole table-top full of generously donated items to the highest and happiest bidder!
It is Great fun! It is Good English practice! It is a great way to raise funds for a good cause!
In January 2020, we raised over £300 in a couple of hours, and had a fabulous afternoon together.
But to top it all – @soschildrenuk were delighted – and after all, that is what matters the most.
