Oxford University Press recently announced Peace as Oxford Children’s Word of the Year 2025.

35% of children chose Peace. Other contenders were AI and resilience.  The 2025 research from @oxfordchildrens  surveyed opinions from almost 5,000 children across the UK aged 6–14, and highlighted children’s awareness of current affairs.  Six-seven was named the Oxford Children’s Slang Word of the Year 2025. This was followed by aura and delulu, both of which had us smiling and reaching for the dictionary!

The CAE Summer School Word of the Day is a highlight for us all: Fun; Friendship; Kindness; Respect; Independence; Resilience; Creativity; Patience; Connection  – these are just some of the words at the heart of each summer school day – and very much at the heart of each successful summer season.
